“had a couple of days golf here ,golf courses were good, food good, the rooms are a little tired and could probably do with new beds in my own opinion. Bathroom shower door also a bit rough to close / open but overall not the end of the world.”

“Brilliant sports facilities and golf courses with buggies. The restraint is geared for quick efficient service to feed large parties with plenty of self service food. Caters for vegetarians as well as meat eaters. Great value for money.”

“This was my first time going taking the wife instead of the usual trip with the boys and the weather wasn't good unfortunately, which is obviously not the resorts fault . Really enjoyed the golf I did manage to play, the hydro spa was amazing and really liked the pool, snooker and darts setup. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the food, it could have done with a little more variety in my opinion - hence the 4 stars and not 5....if I could have given 4.5 I would have. A shout out must go to the staff as well both the hotel and greensmen who do a fantastic job and are always on the go, I have no idea how they get the energy!! All in all fantastic value for money, although I hear it's been taken over by new owners and prices will increase somewhat - so depending on how much the increase is will determine if I return for another visit....which I am hoping to someday. Only thing I would say is to ask in the clubhouse what courses best suit your game as they are all different - both in layout and difficulty.”

“The Ashbury knows what it wants to do, focuses on it and delivers every time. If you want to go somewhere with a lot of golf, tennis and indoor activities for not silly money this is a good place to consider. The rooms are average at best, the food plentiful and the staff friendly. The facilities are fantastic.”

“We had a 3 night stay at the Ashbury resort. As 3 people aged 25, we had a brilliant time. Accommodation The accommodation was a bit dated, but beds were comfortable and everything was clean and well kept. We had everything we needed from our room. There was ample parking, including right outside our accommodation. Golf We played a variety of courses and found they were all in very good condition. There were a good variety of holes, some more challenging than others and greens were all in very good condition. Kigbeare - a great course to play. I felt it could have been made clearer when booking that a buggy is not just advisable but compulsory to play the course (£28 per 2-seater). In hindsight this is reasonable as there were some long distances between the holes and walking wouldn't be practical - but it would have been better to know as we may have played a different course instead. Other courses - Pines, Oakwood and Beeches were all very good courses. In great condition, some great views with a pretty good mix of holes. Staff will advise a buggy for Beeches, but you're allowed to walk it and it's definitely doable if fit. Mostly very short/normal walks between holes, with only one steep uphill climb from 14th-16th. Nothing more than 3-4 minutes. Willows (Par 3) - Very enjoyable par 3 course for second round of the day. All fairly flat and straight, but a reasonable mix of distances and again well kept in brilliant condition. Tee times must have been reasonably spaced as we had no issues at all with being held up or holding up others. Food and Drink Breakfast, lunch and dinner were included and all were buffet-style. A good variety of food and desserts, which changed each day and was all nice and high quality. There were several bars on site. This included a quiet lounge, a main bar with TVs and ample outdoor seating, and a large lounge bar with 40+ tables. There was a big projector screen which was great for the world cup. Drinks were reasonably priced, around in line with normal pub prices. Other Facilities and Staff Many snooker tables and a couple of pool tables, all of which were in pretty good condition. A large darts hall with around 15 boards and some ping pong tables, again all in good condition. We didn't play padel or tennis as we had played so much golf, but these looked like great facilities. Likewise we didn't make use of the pool. The resort as a whole was fairly busy but well staffed and there were no problems at all with overcrowding or long waits at the bar, including during the England World Cup match - that said it was a mid-week stay. Staff throughout the resort including reception, bar staff, restaurant staff and golf shop staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had great service for the entire stay. Overall a great trip and would come back. Considering everything was included, the quality of the courses and meals, the trip was brilliant value for money and would recommend.”
